Privacy policy

How ApniDukaan handles information when you use our Android application.

Effective 27 March 2026 · Last updated 27 March 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how ApniDukaan (“the App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use our Android application and related materials published by eRevolutions India (“Controller”).

1. Scope

This policy applies to the ApniDukaan Android app and this marketing / policy website. ApniDukaan is designed as an offline-first retail utility: your core shop data is processed and stored on your device. We do not operate a customer login backend for core billing data in the way a cloud SaaS product would.

2. Information the App processes

Depending on how you use the App, the following categories may be processed locally on your device:

  • Shop & owner profile: shop name, owner name, address, optional phone/GST, and similar fields you enter.
  • Security: PIN or similar credentials used to protect sensitive actions (stored using secure practices on the device).
  • Catalog & inventory: products, prices, units, stock-related fields you maintain.
  • Sales & billing: bills, line items, totals, payment method selections, timestamps, and related records.
  • Customers & udhar: customer names, phone numbers (if provided), balances, payment history you record.
  • Reports & exports: summaries generated from your data (e.g. PDFs), and files you choose to save or share.
  • Backups: if you export a backup file, that file contains a copy of your local database and is stored where you save it (e.g. Downloads, Google Drive folder you pick).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your shop data for third‑party advertising profiles through this App.

3. Permissions & device capabilities

To provide features, the App may request OS permissions such as:

  • Bluetooth — to connect to supported thermal printers for receipts.
  • Storage / media (as required by your Android version) — to save or share PDFs, backups, or exports you explicitly create.
  • Biometric (if offered) — optional convenience for unlocking protected actions where implemented.

You can review or revoke permissions in Android Settings. Revoking permissions may limit features (for example printing).

4. Google Play & essential service providers

When you install or update the App from Google Play, Google processes certain information under Google’s policies (for example app delivery, Play integrity, crash reporting if enabled by your device/Play settings).

This policy does not control Google’s processing; please review Google’s disclosures for details.

5. Security

We design the App to protect sensitive actions (such as PIN‑protected operations) and to store your business data locally. No security practice is perfect; you should keep your device physically secure, use a strong PIN, and protect exported backup files like any financial record.

6. Retention & deletion (summary)

Because data is primarily stored on your device, uninstalling the App or clearing app data in Android Settings typically removes local application data, subject to your device manufacturer’s behaviour.

The App may include local retention rules (for example trimming older records to manage storage). See the Data retention page for a clear summary.

7. Your privacy rights

Privacy rights vary by country and region. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, or restrict processing of personal information, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

For requests related to information processed on your device, the fastest path is usually to use in‑app controls (where available) and your device settings (including app data deletion). For questions about this policy or the App’s behaviour, contact contact@erevolutionsindia.com.

8. Legal bases (EEA / UK)

Where the GDPR / UK GDPR applies, we process personal data as necessary to provide the App you choose to install, based on performance of a contract / steps prior to contract, legitimate interests (for example security and product support communications you initiate), consent where required (such as certain optional permissions), and legal obligations where applicable.

9. International transfers

Your data is primarily processed on your device. If you email us or share files with us for support, that information may be processed in India or other locations where we operate, consistent with applicable law.

10. Children

ApniDukaan is intended for business use by adults operating a retail shop. It is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).

11. California (CPRA) — summary

California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including rights to know, delete, and correct personal information, and to opt out of certain sharing (we do not “sell” personal information in the conventional sense). Submit requests via contact@erevolutionsindia.com.

12. India (DPDPA)

Where India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies, we process personal data in line with applicable law, including providing this notice and handling grievances through the contact above where required.

13. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date. If required by law, we will provide additional notice for material changes.
